Abstract | Virginia Western Community College reviewed its policy concerning the grant of academic credit for successful completion of CLEP general examinations, finding that the CLEP examinations were questionable in terms of content validity, produced low correlations with subsequent course grades, and were not always acceptable for transfer credit at other institutions. Recommendations for initiating a statewide, articulated CLEP policy were suggested. (JDS) |
